What did Real change on 1 September 2026?

Three US fees and one US payment rule. Real's help center gave notice in June 2026, in its article on inviting an agent to a team, that from 1 September 2026 the US CBR fee would change from $40 to $50 a transaction and the US annual brokerage fee from $750 to $900. Real's fee articles, edited on 31 August 2026, now give the new amounts.

The third fee went down. Real's US fee schedule, edited the same day, says the post-cap fee for an agent who has reached Elite status falls to $100 on transactions created on or after 1 September 2026. Real's schedule as archived in June 2025, and its post-cap fee article as last edited in July 2026, both give $129.

Real's US fees before and after 1 September 2026, from its help center, June 2025 to August 2026.
FeeBeforeFrom 1 September 2026
Compliance and broker review (CBR) fee, on every transaction.$40.$50.
Annual brokerage fee, from the first three transactions of the anniversary year.$750, in three installments of $250.$900, in three installments of $300.
Post-cap fee on a sale, after Elite status.$129.$100.

What stayed the same in the US?

The rest of Real's US schedule. The 15% split until the cap, the $12,000 cap, the $285 and $125 post-cap fees on a sale and a lease, and the $249 sign-up fee read the same on Real's schedule of 31 August 2026 as on its version archived in June 2025, and neither lists a monthly fee.

Where does a US agent's revenue share go now?

Into a Real Wallet business checking account, and nowhere else. Real's revenue share articles, edited on 31 August 2026, say that from 1 September 2026 every US agent needs a Real Wallet Business Checking Account to receive revenue share, and its article on Real Retirement applies the same rule to those payments.

Real says it holds any revenue share payment an agent misses for want of an account, and deposits it once the account is set up. The rule is written for US agents only.

Did anything change in Canada?

The Elite fee, on Real's latest schedule. Real's Canadian fee schedule, edited on 31 August 2026, says the post-cap fee falls to $150 after Elite status, where its version archived in July 2025 said $175, both in Canadian dollars. Unlike the US schedule, it gives no date the change took effect.

The Canadian CBR fee of $40 CAD and the yearly Brokerage and Risk Management Fee of $1,200 CAD read the same on both versions.

Questions & answers

What do agents in the US and Canada ask about this?

Did Real raise fees in 2026?

Yes, in the US, from 1 September 2026. Real's US compliance and broker review fee went from $40 to $50 a transaction, and its US annual brokerage fee from $750 to $900, collected as $300 from each of the first three deals of the anniversary year. The same schedule cut the US Elite post-cap fee from $129 to $100.

In Canada, Real's CBR fee is still $40 CAD and its Brokerage and Risk Management Fee still $1,200 CAD, and the Elite post-cap fee is $150 CAD on the schedule edited 31 August 2026, against $175 CAD in the version archived in July 2025. Every dated change since January 2026 is on the page listing Real's policy changes by date.

Do I need a Real Wallet account to get revenue share at Real?

In the US, yes, since 1 September 2026. Real's revenue share articles say every US agent needs a Real Wallet Business Checking Account to receive revenue share, which Real now deposits only into that account. If you have none, Real holds the payments you miss and deposits them once the account is open. The rule is written for US agents only.

The same rule covers Real Retirement payments. Real Wallet, and what its US and Canadian accounts include, is set out on the page about the platform at Real.

What is Real's Elite post-cap fee now?

In the US, $100 a sale on transactions created on or after 1 September 2026, and in Canada $150 in Canadian dollars, on Real's fee schedules edited 31 August 2026. Before, Real charged $129 in the US and $175 CAD in Canada. The fee replaces the regular post-cap fee once an agent on the full cap reaches Elite status.

Real's article on the post-cap fee, last edited in July 2026, still gives the older $129 and $175 CAD, so Real's help center disagrees with itself until that article is edited. How an agent reaches Elite status is set out on the page about Elite agent status at Real.
