What is Real Brokerage?

A licensed residential real estate brokerage in all 50 US states, the District of Columbia and six Canadian provinces, by its own filing's description. Since 24 August 2026 it has been part of Real REMAX Group Inc., whose shares trade on Nasdaq under the symbol REAX.

How many agents does Real have?

Real counted 35,348 agents on its platform at the end of June 2026, up 26% on a year earlier, in its last quarterly report before the RE/MAX combination.

What does Real charge an agent in the US?

Real's US fee schedule, edited in August 2026, has an agent pay 15% of each commission to Real until the $12,000 cap for the anniversary year. After the cap, Real charges $285 on each sale and $125 on each lease, or 15% if that is less. The same schedule lists a $249 sign-up fee, a $50 compliance and broker review fee on every transaction, and a $900 annual brokerage fee taken from the first three transactions.

What does Real charge an agent in Canada?

Real's Canadian fee schedule, also edited in August 2026, has an agent pay 15% of each commission to Real until a cap of $15,000 in Canadian dollars. After the cap, Real charges $375 on each sale and $125 on each lease, or 15% if that is less. The same schedule lists a $249 sign-up fee, a $40 compliance and broker review fee on every transaction, and a $1,200 annual brokerage and risk management fee taken from the first three transactions, all in Canadian dollars.

Does a sponsor's revenue share come out of your commission?

No. Real pays it out of its own 15% split, so nothing comes out of your side of the commission, whoever you name.

Can you earn stock at Real?

Through Real's stock purchase plan, which invests 5% of your net commission income before the cap and 10% after it. You can opt in or out at any time.

What technology does an agent use at Real?

reZEN, the transaction platform Real built itself, where an agent tracks commission and progress toward the cap and Elite status. Leo, Real's round-the-clock assistant, answers questions about an agent's own deals, commissions and finances from their reZEN data.

How long does it take to join?

Real says the application should take about 15 minutes. Real's onboarding team then reaches out within 48 hours, and the license transfer can take a few days, depending on your state or province, which sets its own process.

What happens to your listings and pending deals?

Your current brokerage agreement decides. Real's policy for active listings and pending transactions defaults to what that agreement says, and Real says it is unable to get involved.

Can you hold licenses in more than one state or province?

Yes, and each one you keep active moves to Real. Real's Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) has an exclusivity clause that requires agents to transfer their licenses to Real in every state or province where they are licensed, unless they keep a license inactive where they are not actively working.

What is a sponsor at Real?

The person who introduced you to Real, explained how it works and, in your own judgment, most influenced your decision to join. You name one, two co-sponsors or nobody when you apply.

Can you change your sponsor after you join?

No. Once your Independent Contractor Agreement is signed, Real will not change the name for any reason. The one exception is for an agent whose only sponsor leaves Real on or after 14 August 2025, who can name a new co-sponsor 30 days after that sponsor leaves.

Can a sponsor offer you something for naming them?

No. Real's rules say a sponsor may not offer, entice or promise anything of value in return for being named, and any offer a sponsor makes has to be extended to all agents through Real's approved processes.

Questions & answers

What else do agents in the US and Canada ask?

Is Real Brokerage legitimate?

Real reports to the SEC as a public company. Its filing for the quarter ended 30 June 2026 describes a licensed residential real estate brokerage in all 50 US states, the District of Columbia and six Canadian provinces, with 35,348 agents at the end of that quarter. Since 24 August 2026 it has been part of Real REMAX Group Inc., whose shares trade on Nasdaq as REAX.

Everything on this page comes from Real's own filings, releases and help center, each dated. How big Real is, and what the RE/MAX combination changed and did not change, is covered on the page about what Real is and how big it is.

How does Real make money if there are no monthly fees?

Real's US fee schedule, edited in August 2026, lists no monthly fees. Real's revenue from an agent comes per deal: 15% of each commission until the agent's $12,000 US cap, then a post-cap fee of $285 a sale or $125 a lease, or 15% if less, plus a $50 compliance and broker review fee on every transaction and a $900 annual brokerage fee.

The same schedule lists a $249 sign-up fee, and Canadian agents have a schedule of their own, in Canadian dollars, with a $15,000 cap and a $375 post-cap fee on a sale. Every fee, with its date, is set out on the page about the money at Real.

What technology does Real give its agents?

Real's own platform, reZEN, which its help center calls a homegrown solution for managing transactions: agents track commission and progress toward the cap and Elite status there, upload documents and reach their broker. Leo, which Real describes as a 24/7 concierge, answers an agent's questions about their own deals, commissions and finances from their reZEN data.

Real's help center lists what an agent does in reZEN, and describes Leo as reading the agent's transaction data there to answer. Both tools are described on the page about the platform at Real.

Do I need to give notice to my current brokerage before moving to Real?

Real does not set that rule; your current brokerage agreement does. Real's policy defaults to that agreement for your active listings and pending deals, and Real says it cannot get involved. Where your old brokerage has to release your license before it can move, Real waits for that release before it accepts the license.

Read your current agreement before you set a date. What Real's policy says about listings, buyer agreements and deals already under contract is set out on the page about moving to Real without losing your listings and pending deals.

Can I join Real with someone I already know as my sponsor?

Yes, if they are the one who most influenced your decision: that is Real's own definition of a sponsor, and you name them in your application with their name and email. They cannot offer you anything of value for being named, and whatever they do offer has to be open to all agents. Once your ICA is signed, the name cannot be changed.

You can also name two co-sponsors, or nobody. What a sponsor does, how one is paid and the questions worth asking before you name one are set out on the page about what a sponsor at Real does.

Is Real Brokerage available in Canada?

Yes. Real's filing for the quarter ended 30 June 2026 describes a licensed brokerage in six Canadian provinces as well as all 50 US states and the District of Columbia. Real's help center keeps a license transfer guide for each province, and Canadian agents have their own fee schedule, set in Canadian dollars, separate from the US one.

How a license moves differs by province, as it does by state, and Real's onboarding team reaches out within 48 hours with next steps. The six provinces and who starts the transfer in each are set out on the page about moving to Real in Canada.
