Real and REMAX Merger
What the Real and REMAX Merger Changes for REMAX Agents
Updated
Bottom line: Both companies say REMAX keeps its brand and REMAX agents keep their economics. What is new is optional access to Real's reZEN platform and services, plus a larger network for referrals.

What do the two companies say stays the same for you?
RE/MAX's own release on the agreement says the REMAX brand carries on under its current name. The same release says Real keeps operating as an owned brokerage under the Real brand.
RE/MAX Holdings filed four trade-press interviews with the SEC. In them, the two chief executives said nothing changes for REMAX agents and the economics stay as they are.
Those remarks describe the REMAX network as a whole. Your own office's terms are the ones to hold them against.
Who will lead Real REMAX Group, and from where?
Real's SEC filing of the joint announcement says Tamir Poleg, Real's chief executive, becomes chairman and chief executive of Real REMAX Group once the transaction closes.
The same filing puts the headquarters in Miami, with significant operations staying in the Denver area.
How large is the combined network, and what is it meant to do for referrals?
RE/MAX's release counts nearly 8,500 franchisees and more than 180,000 agents across the combined company. More than 100,000 of those agents are based in the U.S. and Canada.
Real's filing of the joint announcement says the two companies supported about 1 million transaction sides in North America in 2025. The global figure was 1.8 million.
In his email to Real agents, filed with the SEC, Tamir Poleg named an agent-to-agent referral network as the first thing the combination would build. For you, that means more agents under one parent company to send a client to, or to hear from.
If you are weighing a change of brokerage, what does the decision turn on now?
RE/MAX's release says agents under either brand can use reZEN, Real's integrated technology platform. Access to reZEN alone, then, is no reason to pick one brand over the other.
The same release keeps REMAX as a franchise brand and Real as its own brokerage. The choice between them is still a choice between those two models.

Questions & answers
What do agents in the US and Canada ask about this?
Do I have to use reZEN if I stay at a REMAX office?
No. In the trade-press interviews RE/MAX Holdings filed with the SEC, Tamir Poleg said taking up Real's technology is not mandatory for the REMAX network. RE/MAX's release on the deal presents reZEN as an opportunity for agents under either brand. Opting in is your call, and so is keeping the tools your office runs now.
RE/MAX's release describes reZEN as Real's integrated technology platform. It lists transaction management, AI automation and integrated financial services among its parts, with Real Wallet named in that last group. Before you opt in, ask your office how reZEN would sit beside the systems it already uses. That answer is specific to your office and your own setup.
Besides reZEN, which Real services are being offered to REMAX agents?
In the interviews RE/MAX Holdings filed with the SEC, Tamir Poleg named Real Wallet, One Real Mortgage and One Real Title. He said they would be offered to the entire REMAX network, on top of the platform. Like reZEN, they arrive as offers, and Poleg described Real's technology and services as optional for that network.
RE/MAX's release places Real Wallet among the integrated financial services inside reZEN. One Real Mortgage and One Real Title come from Poleg's interview remarks. How any of them would work beside the mortgage and title relationships your office already has is a question for your office to answer.
Does Motto Mortgage keep its name after the Real deal?
Yes, by both companies' account. RE/MAX's news release on the agreement says Motto Mortgage will keep operating under its current brand. The release describes it as the only national mortgage brokerage franchise brand in the U.S. Tamir Poleg's email to Real agents, filed with the SEC, says the same of Motto Mortgage and of REMAX.
Poleg's email sets that beside a parallel point: Real stays its own brokerage, focused on its agent-first, technology-driven model. One Real Mortgage is the Real service Poleg said would be offered to the REMAX network.
Until the deal closes, do Real and REMAX operate as one company?
No. Tamir Poleg's email to Real agents, filed with the SEC, says Real and REMAX continue to operate separately and independently until the transaction closes. Until then, your office runs as a REMAX office and Real runs as its own brokerage, with neither company directing the other.
The leadership arrangement in Real's filing of the joint announcement takes effect after closing. That is when Poleg moves into the combined chairman and chief executive role. Questions about how your office works before then belong with your office.
