What Real's Team Types Leave to the Team Leader
Updated
Bottom line: Real's three team types in the US set the cap floor and the agreement rules. Inside them, a Domestic Team's deals pay through the leader's account, and state or provincial questions go to Real's designated broker.

Which team types can a leader choose from at Real in the US?
Real's help center lists three US team types: Domestic, ProTeam and Marketing Group.
Its comparison table sets the requirements of each side by side. Those include the team cap, the minimum split to the leader and what each type asks of a team agreement.
If you are weighing a move with your team, those three lines are the ones to compare first.
What does a Domestic Team route through the leader?
Real's help center article on the Domestic Team type says one member is designated the Team Leader, also called the Primary agent.
Every transaction on that team is paid through the Team Leader's reZEN account. If you lead a Domestic Team, the deals your partner works are paid through your account.
What does a Marketing Group leave out?
Real's comparison of its US team types describes a Marketing Group as agents who may share a marketing name. They may also refer transactions to one another inside the group.
The same article says they have no formal team agreement. For a leader choosing a type, that is the line between a shared brand and a team with a formal agreement.
What team cap does Real set for a team?
Real Brokerage publishes a minimum team cap, and it depends on the company cap each agent is on.
For agents on the $6,000 company cap, Real's minimum team cap is $6,000. For agents on the $4,000 company cap, Real's minimum is $8,000.
Who answers a team question that turns on your state or province?
Real assigns designated brokers by state and province, and its help center keeps their contact details in one directory.
That directory has Broker Responsibilities columns showing which of your state brokers handles which kind of issue. Rules that come from the regulator are your own state's or province's, so ask that broker before you settle terms.
Alexis Ruiz-Ney, our sponsor at Real, answers the phone when you want to talk the choice through first.

Questions & answers
What do agents in the US and Canada ask about this?
On a Domestic Team at Real, can the dormant agent get revenue share?
No, not while they are listed as the dormant agent. Real's help center article on the Domestic Team type says an agent in that role cannot collect commission. Because they cannot collect commission, they also cannot receive revenue share during that time. The limit is tied to the dormant listing, so it lasts as long as that agent holds the role.
Real describes the second member's account on this team type as dormant, while the other member is designated the leader. If you and your partner are settling who holds which role, read Real's article on the Domestic Team type together before you set up. Where the arrangement turns on your own state's or province's rules, ask Real's designated broker for that state or province.
How do I set up a new team at Real?
Real's help center article on starting a team sends you to its New Team Set Up Request Form. You fill out that form to request the new team. After it goes in, Real gets in touch to help with your onboarding. Settle which team type you want before you send it, because Real sets the cap and agreement requirements by type.
We are glad to talk the form through with you before you send it. Alexis Ruiz-Ney is our sponsor at Real and answers the phone. Every week, Jumpstart Partners also shares one thing that is working right now, from the person doing it.
Where do I go at Real to add one agent to my team or take someone off it?
Real's help center article on starting a team points you to a separate article titled Joining, Leaving or Changing Teams. A member goes there to be removed from a team. A leader goes there to add a single agent to a team that already exists. Brand-new teams start through the New Team Set Up Request Form instead.
Moving an agent from one team to another inside Real runs through that same article. If a change to your roster raises a question that depends on your state's or province's rules, Real's directory of state and provincial brokers lists who handles which kind of issue.
